Christian Worldview Paper 2 The Old Testament of the Holy Bible gives many examples which provide modern man with guidelines for the use of scientific method. Millam (2008) explains that there is an underlying order in nature demonstrated by the patterns and regularities of God’s creations. These regularities can be seen in the forces of nature and are stable throughout space and time (Millam, 2008). The original classification of species, use of precise measurement, and even the first account of scientific research, are all included in the Old Testament of the Holy Scriptures. God gives scientists some clear frames of reference for seeking knowledge and truth in science. Scientific Method in the Old Testament Adam: Genesis 2:19-20†¦show more content†¦It was not made to sail, but to float until the water went down and the angel of the Lord opened the only door of the Ark (Cremades, 2000). Noah, being a righteous and faithful man, was obedient to God’s divine direction in the building of the Ark. Noah also trusted that God would keep His covenant with him—that if Noah built the Ark and loaded it with the animals and food according to God’s explicit instructions—that God would keep them all safe through the flood and cause His angel to open the door of the Ark when the flood waters had receded. The Biblical lesson for the modern man of science is that God has called us to obediently follow His teachings in all of our scientific endeavors—His precision in measures and His integrity and truth in reporting results—yet with the humility of fallen creatures who are prone to sin and error. Jethro: Exodus 18:13-27 Exodus 18:13-27 described Moses’ long hours each day as judge for the people of Israel. Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, observed this and suggested a more efficient way to handle the judging and settling of conflicts among the citizens. Jethro evaluated the current â€Å"program† which was very inefficient, taxing Moses’ energy from morning to evening. Jethro had conceived of a better system for handling disputes among the Israelites, and outlined the details to Moses.
